Ex-British Airways and Concorde aviation expert launches the ultimate digital hub for travellers around the globe
A brand-new digital hub for aviation professionals has launched, enabling those working in the airline industry to connect while overseas and share local recommendations.
Designed with the unique lifestyle of pilots, cabin crew, and the flying community in mind, the Club Aviator app offers curated global recommendations—from must-visit restaurants and rooftop bars, to off-the-radar cultural spots and up-to-date travel news.
Available to download free on macOS and Android devices, the closed-user app helps the 11 million professionals working in the aviation industry to uncover local gems shared by those in the know, whether they are on a quick layover or extended trip.
Club Aviator was set up by Maggie Draycott, a leading figure in the global travel and aviation space who was named one of Condé Nast Traveller’s 50 Most Influential Travellers.
Maggie, who worked on the iconic Concorde aircraft brands team and spent 15 years leading British Airways’ ‘Premier and High Value Customers’ division, told The Mail: ‘I came up with the idea during the end of Covid. ‘There was nothing out there to connect people within the airline industry. ‘So many of those working in the flying community find themselves sitting in their hotel rooms, not knowing anyone. ‘Every night, there are 2,000 crew in New York City, and nobody knows each other. We wanted to change that. ‘Club Aviator is a one-stop for professionals to arrange meet-ups, join chat groups and share itineraries, hacks and insights. ‘More than anything, it’s a home from home – knowing you always have a friend to call on wherever you are in the world.
The app, which took four years to create, launched on October 1st and has had a huge amount of interest globally. To ensure authenticity and security, the app requires a verified work email to register. For the introductory period, Club Aviator is free to download and use, and can be downloaded on the Appstore or Google Play under ClubAviator.

Club Aviator is a brand-new app that has been developed as a one-stop shop for aviation professionals.
Designed with our community in mind, it’s effectively TripAdvisor for pilots and crew, helping you find hidden gems around your route network and even letting you add some of your own. Whether you’re looking for a history tour, a spa or just somewhere for a quiet drink that doesn’t have a sticky floor, the suggestions on the app are considerably easier than scrolling through Google Maps to see what is open.
Aviation can be a lonely place, and Club Aviator offers something to help Alleviate that, allowing you to make connections with other members (All of whom must have a verified airline email address) and even set up invites for your chosen activities, so you can avoid making yet another WhatsApp group.
With Maps, opening hours and notes regarding split-pay, this app is a handy one to have on your phone, and promises to only get better as more and more people start using it.
Available from Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Members check in for Club Aviator, ‘one-stop-shop’ for pilots and crew
The app, by the travel veteran Maggie Draycott, aims to give aviation professionals news, discounts and a chance to meet up wherever they are in the world
Hundreds of members and several new business partners have climbed aboard the Club Aviator app since the “one stop shop” for aviation professionals was launched in October.
Designed with the lifestyle of pilots and cabin crew in mind, Club Aviator offers curated global recommendations — from must-visit restaurants and rooftop bars to cultural spots off the beaten track — and up-to-date travel news.
Members can join a community, share itineraries and meet up with fellow globe-trotters. Benefits also include membership partnerships with the travel clubs, retail and hospitality firms that have joined the app.
Club Aviator is the brainchild of Maggie Draycott, an entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience in the travel industry who was named one of Condé Nast Traveller’s 50 most influential travellers in 2017.
Draycott said: “As a first-time woman entrepreneur in the digital world, for me the ultimate prize would be to see more people connect, make new friends globally and enjoy their lives a bit more. I’d love it to be a one stop shop, their go-to app for all our members to help them keep sane during their layovers or in their day-to-day lives. There will be a huge variation of partners eventually, so something for everyone, wherever you are in the world.”
Every night, there are about 2,000 crew in New York City. There are an estimated eleven million aviation professionals working across the industry.
The app, which can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices, is backed by private investors following a four-year product research and development process.
Draycott, a former senior executive at British Airways, led the “premier and high value vustomers” division and worked on Concorde. A serial entrepreneur, she advises high-net-worth and luxury brands and is chief executive of Maggie Draycott Associates, a consultancy.
